About the roleUnder direction of the management team, the Claims Representative- Material Damage/Total Loss performs the essential functions of the position, which includes but is not limited to:
What you'll doReview and audit material damage estimates and supplements and make recommendations as to their accuracy to keep costs down and help oversee any appraisers we employ; Interact with shops, other carriers, customers, and attorneys with regards to the material damage/repair aspect of claims;Document review of appraisals from all sources and make recommendations as to whether appraisals reflect reasonable and customary charges;Dispose of total loss vehicles in a cost effective manner including determining accurate valuations, moving vehicles to storage free locations promptly and handling all total loss settlement in compliance with all laws and regulations;Complies with state and federal laws, Department of Insurance criteria, insurance carrier criteria and follows and enforces Aspire General Insurance/partner’s policies, procedure and work rules;Writes appraisals using licensed software;Regular and predictable punctuality and attendance;Other duties as necessary.QualificationsFive plus years’ experience in Property and Casualty insurance industry;Three years' experience in auto estimatingMust have a clear understanding of insurance industry practices, standards and terminology;Experience handling vehicle estimating, all types of vehicle damage claims and repairs and total losses;Must be able to pass a background check with the anticipated goal of acquiring and maintaining a current Independent Adjuster License with the Department of Insurance; Must have a disciplined approach to all job-related activities;Must have a solid foundation of personal organization, sound decision making and analytical skills, strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
