Engineering Technician, Level 3

ASRC Federal System Solutions serves as a contract support for the FAA NAS (Federal Aviation Administration National Airspace System) National Enterprise & Infrastructure System Engineering Group. Join our growing team as an Engineering Technician Level III in support of the FAA’s mission.

Responsibilities

Performs standardized or prescribed assignments supporting 2nd Level Engineering Lab for FAA NAS ESSOrganizes and support annual test equipment calibration services with National Test Equipment Program ManagerFollowing specific instructions, assembles or constructs simple or standard equipment or parts, servicing or repairing simple instruments or equipmentAssists technical work in: drafting, electrical systems, or mechanical systemsOrganizes, manages and maintains test equipment and tool inventory for all labsConducts a variety of tests using established methods, adjusting and operating equipment, recording test data, and reporting deviations resulting from equipment malfunction or observational errors

Requirements

Proficient with operation and troubleshooting of various types of test equipment utilized or used in communication systems in the NASKnowledge of NAS facilities and related systems and equipment; operational procedures; and technical documentation are highly desirableExperience working in a team environmentGood written and verbal communication skills in the development of technical documentationAbility to pass an FAA background investigation (US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required)

Education/Experience

An Associate’s Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology or similar science/technology curriculum is required.Experience with NAS facilities, systems, and equipment is desirableWorking knowledge of Autodesk AutoCAD software. Used to create and maintain lab drawingsAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, etc...)Familiar with lab safety protocols and procedures
