π Role Overview & Responsibilities
ASRC Federal AFSS is a premier provider of systems engineering, software engineering, system integration and project management services for real-time, mission-critical defense systems. We are seeking a Technical Editor to support a NASA contract in Greenbelt, MD.
Job Description: Provide Technical Editing support to the Office of the Director and New Opportunities Office Proposal Development group. Developing graphics and identity branding for competitive scientific proposals through communication, publishing, and electronic means.
Responsibilities
Editing the proposals for grammatical errors, consistency, readability, voice, and message.For technical papers, the contractor shall edit for grammatical errors, consistency, and clarity.Ensure the proposalβs scientific, engineering, and management themes are evident.Enforce deadlines with the approval of the GSFC project manager. Check proposals for compliance with the announcement instructions and flag noncompliant information.Provide technical writing and editing comments and/or modifications in hardcopy or electronic format, as specified by the GSFC project manager.The New Opportunities Office will provide guidance on proposal priorities. Due to the nature of the work performed and unforeseen changes in the proposal cycle, workload will fluctuate depending on the volume of proposals and their schedules.Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat) and of Office 365 suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint).Outstanding, proactive, customer service with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to anticipate customer needs.Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.Ability to multi-task with various projects. Ability to learn quickly and think critically to create innovative solutions for customer and employee needs. Strong knowledge of Office 365 suite (Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) Outstanding proactive customer service with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to anticipate customer needs by recognizing areas of opportunity and quickly providing solutions. Individuals must meet government NAC and citizenship/permanent residency requirements for access to NASA GSFC. Extensive background investigation will be performed as a requirement of the job.
Education And Experience
Bachelorβs degree and 12+ years of experience or 15+ years of related experience in lieu of degree.
