Assel Grant Services (AGS) is accepting applications for a full-time Grant Management Specialist (be sure to read the WHOLE description). AGS is a professional grant services firm specializing in grant writing, strategic planning, organizational development, grant management, coaching, and grant training. Our expert team of over 20 grant writers (19 of whom are credentialed by the Grant Professional Certification Institute and two of whom are credentialed by the National Grants Management Association) and researchers have written over 1,400 grants and secured over $400 million for our clients since 2007.

Role:We are currently looking to add a Grant Management Specialist to the AGS team. We’re seeking a focused, energized, and self-motivated individual who is able to work remotely with some occasional travel. This position encompasses the process of grant funding oversight from application to closure. It involves ensuring compliance and reporting, comprehensive monitoring for effective use of funds, and achieving grant objectives.
While the Grant Management Specialist’s primary responsibilities are post-award activities, this role may also be involved in guiding pre-award grant teams to reduce post-award amendments and budget revisions. Ideally, this position will have experience with not only government grants, but also grant management for education institutions and healthcare organizations.
Supporting Client Grant Management: · Reviewing, editing, and creating grant management policies and procedures alongside client· Train and coach clients on grants management · Corresponds with applicants and grantees as requested. · Works closely with staff to review applicant and grantee financial reports to perform grant due‐diligence procedures and identify potential concerns. · Manages administration of the grant cycle from application to closing; ensures that grant requirements are met and payments are appropriate · Leads the implementation of and ensures adherence to grantmaking workflow processes and procedures.· Understands IRS requirements for private foundations and ensures compliance with those rules and regulations, including 990PF reporting · Participates on strategy teams and supports staff in developing applications, budgets, and contract requirements · Assists in the development and maintenance of strategy budgets and monitors budget‐versus-actual activity. · Ensures that a client’s grants management database is accurate and meets legal and audit requirements. · Maintains a confidential stance regarding foundation and grantee activities. · Is willing to travel in state and nationally; has access to an automobile for such travel Supporting In-House Grant Professionals: · Creating and updating a templated grants management manual · Train and coach staff on grants management Ideal Candidates Will Have:· A bachelor’s degree, preferably, with accounting experience or commensurate work experience. A background in education, healthcare or non-profit organizations would be helpful.· Expanded conceptual knowledge of finance, accounting, and business functions. · Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Excel and Word), proficiency in Asana (project management), and an understanding of accounting basics. · Certified Grants Management Specialist or research administrator certification is preferred. · Strong experience with comprehensively reviewing grant agreements.· Proficiency in financial management and analysis including budget creation, analysis skills and compliance.· Grants and contracts or related research administration experience is preferred.
