Lead Java Developer

TITLE: SENIOR ENGINEER ROLE SUMMARYThe Senior Engineer role plans, designs, develops and tests high-quality, innovative and fully performing software systems or applications for software enhancements and new products. Key responsibilities include:Contribute to full software development life cycleWrite maintainable, extensible, tested code, while complying with coding standardsProduce specifications and determine operational feasibilityContinuously Integrate and deliver software components into a fully functional software systemFacilitate end to end user testing with customersTroubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing systemsCAREER LEVEL SUMMARYProficiency: Fully mastered in immediate function/domain and has developed competent skills in complimentary functions or domains. Is able to train junior members in mastered domain knowledge.Direction: Is largely autonomous, working on a day to day basis without supervision or support. Occasionally checks in with manager for questions, direction. Provides support or direction to more junior members.Business Focus: Understands TCNA's business model, as well as the specific roadmap of assigned product or function. Understands the interconnectedness of business systems, products, and/or technologies. Understands the needs of the customer, and approaches work with a desire to exceed customer expectations. QUALIFICATIONS8+ years of experienceMust Have – Strong backend experience in Java building production ready applicationsMust Have - AWS experience (specifically in services such as Lambda, Beanstalk, Kinesis, DynamoDB etc.) developing applications for cloud platformsMust have - Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormationMust have - Should have used one of the common Java frameworks: Spring, Spring Boot, Quarkus or similar, and any of the Java Persistence API and JDBC implementationsNice to have - Experience in building streaming and batch data pipelines using Big Data technologies (Spark, Flink, Kinesis, Kafka, etc) on large scale unstructured data setsNice to have - Kubernetes experience for developing, deploying, and orchestrating micro-servicesNice to have - Experience developing applications within Docker containersNice to have - Expertise in multiple languages such as Java/Kotlin/ScalaNice to have - Good understanding of concepts regarding security, privacy, performance, etc
