In this key role you will apply your expertise and experience to all existing and future firmware projects that make our products come to life. You have a track record of developing creative solutions to meet product requirements.ResponsibilitiesArchitect, develop and implement firmware for our productsWork closely with the hardware team to ensure firmware and hardware work togetherCollaborate with software engineers to integrate firmware with higher-level softwareWrite clear and concise technical documentationWork with cross-functional teams to understand and define product requirementsDebug and troubleshoot issues in firmwareManage external firmware development resourcesQualificationsBS/MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field5+ years of experience in firmware development for embedded systemsExperience working at a small company or startupExperience with battery-powered devices and power managementProficient in C/C++ programming languagesExperience with ARM Cortex-M and ARM Cortex-A processorsExperience with RISC-V processors – e.g. ESP32Experience with wireless communication protocols such as Bluetooth and Wi-FiExperience with Zephyr and FreeRTOSExperience with communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, and USBFamiliarity with embedded software development tools such as IDEs, compilers, linkers, and debuggersExperience with embedded Linux developmentExperience with security and encryption protocols in firmware developmentStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailAbility to work independently and as part of a teamExcellent written and verbal communication skillsEnthusiastic for Astrohaus’ products and missionBonus QualificationsExperience with higher level languages such as Python and JavascriptKnowledge of electronics and hardware design principlesCompensationThe lean nature of our team and fast growth of our company allows us to provide stable and competitive compensation often reserved for larger companies.
