It is essentially the core of our business.Our mission is to power AstrumU’s platform using an AI engine that measures the multi-dimensionaleducation and professional journey of students and provides skill-based career preparationrecommendations. Our Data Science team leverages their knowledge of machine learning, NLP,and data engineering to map the unique offerings in education programs and translates learningoutcomes into ‘workforce attributes’ as a common language between education and industry. Thisopportunity is unique and challenging because you will be dealing with an unprecedented scope ofdata in delivering career outcome-focused tools for: prospective students; career and academicadvisors; and senior administrators. Our next teammate will be an adventurous problem solver,fearlessly creating new datasets and applying existing techniques in novel ways.We are looking for a candidate who can proactively communicate, work, and contribute in a smallteam environment. The candidate must possess a technical aptitude and effective, respectfulcommunication and interaction skills. The candidate must be flexible and results oriented as we asbe able to work in a changing and fast paced environment. He or she must be a self-starter andable to prioritize, make decision. Specifically, we are looking for a student who currently enrolledin a collage or recently finished study to join our AI team to work with existing team members forextracting meaning from data. The lasting of internship starts from 3 months but can be extendedsubject to performance and project needs.

Responsibilities:• Team with one senior team member as the mentor to get familiar with the overall missionof DS team and be a team player to work on one or more ongoing projects.• Collaborate on the development and implementation of machine learning models usingstate-of-the-art techniques.• Conduct experiments to optimize model hyperparameters to improve performance.• Evaluate model performance using proper metrics and iterate the process as necessary.

Skills and Qualifications:• Currently pursuing or recently graduated with an advanced degree in Computer Science,Data Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field• Solid understanding of basic machine learning concepts and techniques.• Familiar with data processing such as data cleansing, transformation, and featureengineering.• Strong problem solving and attention to detail.• Prior experience with popular machine learning libraries is a plus.
