📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities

Development Coordinator

The ASU Foundation (ASUF) fosters partnerships between ASU and like-minded individuals, corporations and foundations who believe in ASU’s mission and provide resources for ASU to manifest its charter into meaningful impact.

The development coordinator will play a key role on the development team that works to secure significant philanthropic investments that will support Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College (MLFTC). The development coordinator will act as the MLFTC staff liaison to alumni, prospects, donors, and all other constituencies to provide support for development initiatives, programs and events to ensure timely recognition and stewardship of MLFTC donors and scholarships. The coordinator will also be responsible for stewardship and operations for the MLFTC Development team.  The position will report to the Director of Development at MLFTC. 

What You’ll Do

Manage donor stewardship activities to ensure timely response and appropriate use of funds in accordance with donor intent Work collaboratively with ASUF on a variety of donor and ad hoc requests that are non-routine and significant in nature Serve as the liaison with the ASUF Sun Devil Giving Office, assisting with the coordination of overall strategy, including the implementation of Sun Devil Giving Day Coordinate with the college's business office on gift deposits and reporting Working with communications and marketing, plan and implement appropriate donor recognition and cultivation communication vehicles Working in cooperation with events staff, plan and execute stewardship and donor relations events Coordinate with ASUF on completing endowment agreements Coordinate special projects under the direction of the director Work closely with the MLFTC business office to ensure philanthropic scholarships are awarded in compliance with donor intent Manage MLFTC scholarship stewardship process Assist in identifying alumni and friends interested in giving back to MLFTC by cultivating relationships with targeted alumni that will result in an initial financial contribution Attend and participate in weekly staff and planning meetings Collaborate with various ASUF offices and functions to advance prospect strategies Prepare presentations, materials, complex and detailed reports and proposals, including requesting needed reports from ASUF Become trained on Salesforce to assist with pulling lists, updating contact information, assisting with capturing MLFTC engagements Other duties as assigned

Excellent organization and prioritization skills, able to balance multiple issues in a fast-paced environment, with a high attention to detail and thoroughness in completing assigned tasksExcellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; possesses a high degree of discretion, judgement, tact, and poiseAbility to make independent judgements and coordinate office details in conjunction with policies and proceduresCollaborative style coupled with an ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with little supervisionAbility to routinely interact with individuals at all levels of the ASU Foundation, Enterprise Partners, and the UniversityAbility to take initiative, and consistently respond to changing situations in a flexible manner to meet the current needs of the department/unitAbility to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and responsibility regarding information related to Foundation and University business and confidential prospect informationKnowledge of office and administrative practices and principlesKnowledge and skill in accounting and budgeting procedures and technique, and web-based financial systemsAdvanced computer skills in a variety of Windows-based computer programs and technical proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database managementIf this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.

Relevant Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or currently enrolled in bachelor's degree programOne (1) to three (3) years professional experience in an administrative support capacity, providing coordination and assistance of operational activities, includes at least one (1) year of database management experienceOr any equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved

Preferred Education And Experience

One (1) to three (3) years of experience in an administrative support capacity, providing coordination and assistance of operational activities, preferably in a not-for-profit or development environmentExperience with Salesforce and Workday

Preferred Skills And Abilities

Knowledge of fundraising and prospect management databases
