Material Handler (Swing Shift) - $18.75/hr. plus shift differential*
Who we are looking for
We are currently looking for a Material Handler to be based out of Molalla, Oregon, reporting to the Plant Manager. Sorters work to ensure quality control by hand sorting recyclable plastic by color and type. Sorters are responsible to ensure unacceptable materials are removed from the recycling line, so the plastic is acceptable for processing to sell to our customers. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and able to lift 50 pounds unassisted. Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus. Our starting rate is $18.75 per hour with additional shift premium for working swing shift*. Atkore offers a competitive pay and benefits package.
What you’ll do:
Perform duties in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.Ensure Lock Out/Tag Out procedures are adhered to consistently.Identify the different colors and types of recyclable plastics for sortingRead and interpret production schedulesConduct inspections on machined components to ensure they are working properlyIdentify and troubleshoot quality issuesEstablish priorities and organize daily workApply Continuous Improvement principles in daily workMaintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulationsAll associates must embrace and foster and environment that supports our core values of Integrity, Respect, Excellence, Teamwork and Accountability.
What you’ll bring:
Minimum educational requirement is high school diploma, or equivalentExcellent interpersonal and communications skillsGood understanding of basic math required for quick and accurate counting and calculationsAttention to detail, accuracy, time management, and organizationMust be adaptable to changes in the work environment, comfortable with multiple competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events in a calm and logical mannerMust be able to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced work environmentAble to lift 50 pounds unassistedExperience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is a plus.Safety Toe Shoes Required
Within 3 months, you’ll:
Complete any required training.Have developed relationships within the department.
