Corporate Banking Department Head (Bilingual Mandarin)

As the Corporate Banking Department Head at our client's San Francisco Branch, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving both external sales and internal credit quality control. Your primary objective will be to lead a dynamic team in expanding their commercial portfolio, encompassing loans and deposits. This role involves identifying, acquiring, and nurturing profitable business relationships that not only create value but also yield significant loan commitments and deposit balances for the branch. You’ll work closely with the Branch Manager to maximize profitability, revenue, customer base, and strategic relationship retention by effectively cross-selling their full range of deposit and lending products and services. This position is key in developing new client relationships while also managing existing customer connections.Principal Duties & Responsibilities:Lead the marketing team in cultivating new business opportunities, including deposits and loans.Maintain a strong market presence and an extensive network of external referral sources for new deposit and loan business.Structure various types of loans and banking products such as CRE loans, construction loans, trade finance, and working capital lines of credit within established credit policies.Negotiate terms and conditions within defined credit policy parameters and approval guidelines.Finalize loan agreements and close sales with prospects and customers.Provide input and contribute to the loan decision process based on credit risk evaluation and mitigating factors.Mentor and support less experienced marketing/underwriting officers.Drive growth goals for loans, deposits, and fees, both individually and by supporting the team through new commercial customer development and cross-selling to existing customers.Implement and enforce adherence to the bank's lending policies and procedures within the team.Ensure quality control and optimize processes for efficiency.Take a leadership role in managing internal and external audits and bank examinations related to loan and credit management.Coordinate with the head office for loan approvals and act as the credit representative for the branch.Job Specifications:Bachelor's degree in finance or a related field.10+ years of experience in credit and/or market development.Deep understanding of the commercial industry, business development techniques, and credit decision-making processes.Proven track record in business development with demonstrated ability to conceptualize and execute effective strategies.Strong leadership skills in managing a credit team.Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both verbal and written.Bilingual Mandarin
