Senior Back-End Software Engineer (Machine Learning Emphasis)

We’re seeking a senior software engineer with experience in machine learning to build efficient, data-driven artificial intelligence systems that empower our customers to receive the maximum benefit from the Awardco platform. The candidate should be highly skilled in statistics and programming, with the ability to confidently assess, analyze, and organize large amounts of data. You will work with cross-functional teams to implement these machine learning models into internal and customer facing products.

What you will do:You will work with cross-functional product teams building data-intensive products, working with data and features, using machine learning models, and sharing insights around data and experiments. You will help build foundational patterns as we ramp up our effort to introduce artificial intelligence and machine learning into our platformBuild backend systems that seamlessly integrate with machine learning systems and create contracts with the frontendCollect and gather datasets to build machine learning models that make real-time decisions for the Awardco platformDeploy machine learning models into production environments and integrate them into the productTrain, retrain, and monitor machine learning systems and models as neededConstruct optimized data pipelines to feed machine learning modelsCollaborate with other engineers and data scientists to create optimal experiences on the platform

What you will bring:Bachelor’s degree required in computer science, statistics or related disciplineExperience building machine learning models for consumer facing products4+ years of experience in software engineeringProven engineering skills, with experience in writing and maintaining high-quality production codeProficiency in at least one general purpose programming language (eg. Python, C#, JavaScript, Java)Ability to succeed in a dynamic startup environmentAbility to work effectively in a cross-functional product team with several concurrent projects
