What You Will Contribute

Are you looking for a full-time temporary summer position in a clean air-conditioned warehouse? Badger Meter has opportunities for full-time, temporary summer help Assemblers for 2nd shift (2:30pm-11:00m Monday-Friday). This position will be for in our assembly and general warehouse in our clean and air-conditioned facility. No prior experience required.

This position is responsible for overall assembly process. General duties include building, assembling, testing, injection molding and packaging a variety of meters or meter reading technology products. You will be responsible for performing the various job functions as described below at an acceptable level of efficiency and quality. The work is completed through manual assembly, utilization of various specialty pieces of equipment, or automated machinery. Employees regularly rotate through various workstations within their home department and occasionally work in other areas of the facility depending on workload and customer orders. Responsible for observing safe work habits and maintaining cleanliness of work area.

Major Job Duties/Accountability

Perform a variety of operations such as assembly of meters, leak testing, meter testing, and packaging of meter products while following safety guidelinesAssemble products, following work instructions ensuring the highest quality products, meeting company product standards, production goals, and customer specifications and delivery requirementsSet up and operate meter accuracy and leak test equipment to determine acceptability of productOperate computer to check schedules, obtain part drawings, set up work procedures and update manufacturing status of jobsWork from dispatch lists or production schedules to obtain required daily outputPerform a variety of tasks such as operation of plastic injection molding machines and perform secondary operations to molded parts such as degating, sprue removal and drillingMay operate and tend to multiple machines simultaneouslyFollow work instructions ensuring the highest quality products, meeting company product standards, production goals, and customer specifications and delivery requirementsCheck parts visually and with the use of inspection tools, gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to ensure parts meet specified quality standardsPerform part counts and/or scale counts and prepare identification tickets for outgoing materialsLoad, unload and debur parts

Qualifications

High School degree preferredBasic computer skillsAbility to pass internal forklift and hazmat training if applicable Ability to work independently with little supervisionMaintains open communication and positive working relationships with staffBasic math skillsAbility to read, write and speak English

Working Conditions

Depending on the assigned department, must be able to demonstrate the ability to lift up to 60 pounds, and complete an audiogram test
