Security Specialist

Job Description The local Security Specialist oversees a Security program with TS clearances and Secret safeguarding. The facility holds sensitive documents that have special safeguards with varying measures of protection. The Security Specialist will oversee the development of a TS facility for conducting Digital Engineering analysis. The Security Specialist serves as the facility’s compliance official as it relates to DoD security guidelines. This person serves as the point of contact for DCSA on all audits and/or inquiries regarding the facility’s security posture. DCSA requires that all DoD contractors with a facility clearance appoint an FSO. In addition, the Security Specialist reviews current Security policies and procedures for accuracy and that they are NISPOM compliant. The Security Specialist makes swift and precise adjustments to any safeguard(s) that is out of compliance to maintain integrity, or mitigate losses. The Security Specialist for this role also serves in an on-call capacity.

The Security Specialist serves as the Security lead for Huntsville, AL to oversee DCSA requirements set by the NISPOM. This role is required by DCSA for all cleared DoD Contractors. The site this Security Specialist will support all of the Huntsville/AMDS classified contracts and pending awards. There is also a DD254 update that will require classified Information Systems (SSP, FVL, RCCTO) at this location. Security duties include:

Visitor ControlBadging and access controlEnter visit requestsSecurity briefings/debriefings and indoctrinationsSecurity investigations (GSOC inquiries)Insider threat council leadSecurity review leadProvides all administrative support for the office (credit card purchases, coupa, equipment repair, front desk support, internal/external meetings (locations, visitors, food, etc.))Travel Coordinator: directly supporting concur travel/actions for GG16, 3ea GG15s and GG14s as necessaryWorks with Colliers on all office internal and maintenance issues reporting facility/office issues restricted areasActs as safety liaison for site lead by documenting, communicating, and implementing the annual, quarterly and monthly SHE objectives and targetsES&H, Ethics, Security, Housekeeping and associated requirements to ensure a hazard free workplaceActs as Site Business Continuity Manager (BCM) representative and maintain BCM plans

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

High school diploma and four years work experience or equivalent experienceSecret clearance. Must be able to obtain Top Secret.The successful candidate will possess a minimum of two years directly related task experience in an administrative role (preferably in a comparable business environment), strong written and oral communication skills, strong organizational skills, and be a self starter.High proficiency in MS Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required.Ability to work independently to identify, assess and resolve unique security situations with innovative solutions geared to facilitate contract performance within the bounds of security requirements.Highly proficient written and verbal communication skills with emphasis on clear and cogent presentation of complex information.Ability to manage time, make sound decisions, take independent action, analyze problems, and provide focused solutions.Must have a professional demeanor, good people skills, ability to communicate effectively, and be able to perform in a multi-tasked, dynamic environment.Must complete FSO Certification within six months of being hired.Local travel may be required.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $48800 - $83000

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
