Our Energy and Resource practice are looking for an experienced US Energy Market Advisory - Senior Manager to join the team.

You will be working at the forefront of the energy sector alongside market specialists with deep industry knowledge where you will be able to deploy and then broaden your skill set and sector expertise.

Our energy market advisory team gives our clients an unparalleled combination of market expertise and commercial insight. We are proud to work with the foremost policymakers, regulators, investors, developers, lenders and energy companies operating globally across the energy supply chain. Led by a Senior Management Team respected as Thought Leaders within the industry, we help our clients shape, define and implement change in energy markets.

We advise the organizations at the heart of this transformation, providing economic, commercial and strategic consulting to energy companies, financial institutions, governments and regulators. Examples of our work include company and asset valuations for mergers and acquisitions, optimizing portfolios from fuel contracting to generation dispatch, developing hedging strategies for vertically integrated energy companies, and advising government on the costs and benefits of different future energy policy options.

What You Will Be Doing

You will be well-versed in the economic fundamentals of deregulated and traditional wholesale electricity markets across the US, with demonstrable working knowledge of the process of project development, revenue modeling, and the prerequisites for raising capital to advance projectsYou will be passionate about addressing the challenges of the rapidly changing energy sector, and knowledgeable about the interaction of gas and power markets, and developments in clean molecule markets (such as hydrogen).You will be experienced in advising on and appraising different forms of infrastructure assets across North America.

Your Skills And Experience

You will have 8 years or more work experience in consulting/finance/strategy/trading in energy marketsYou will have demonstrable working knowledge of electricity and gas wholesale markets, market analysis, regulation, and market design, gained in US and/or Canadian markets. Intimate knowledge of one of either ERCOT, NYISO, CAISO, PJM is an advantageYou will have analytical skills applied to wholesale electricity market fundamentals, such as market modelling and asset revenue modeling / gross margin analysisYou will have experience in commercial structuring, such as assessing routes to market for power generation assets and designing business models in energy marketsYou will have experience in transaction processes, working with other professional services firms to support clients in capital raises / M&A activity / project financingYou will have the ability to take ownership and manage projects day-to-day to deliver results in client-facing environments, managing your own time and those of a junior team in order to meet deadlinesYou will have excellent communication and presentation skills and a track record of effective team working
