📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Barre Unified Union School District seeks a dynamic leader to join our administrative team, beginning July 1, 2024. The Director of Special Services provides oversight and leadership for special education services across the District. This involves coordination of all Pre-K to 12 building-based special education services, activities with central office functions and oversight of special education related grants and transportation. This position provides direct supervision of all Special Education Staff in the Pre-K to 12 educational system.
Responsibilities:The Director identifies new practices, programs and requirements and develops creative proposals and solutions for improved services. The Director ensures that staff complies with all applicable State and Federal regulations and laws, and further ensures that proper reporting, accountability procedures and all required activities are carried out. The Director oversees the hiring and District personnel of all building-based staff providing special education services.
Qualifications:Candidates must hold (or be eligible for) Vermont Educator's License for Special Education Director ( 3-86 ). Please contact the VT Agency of Education if you have questions about your certification (802-479-1700).Citizenship, residency or work visa required
