Our people division is growing, and we are looking for an Open Pit Engineer I to join our Cortez team. The successful candidate will work closely with the mine operations team to execute on designs and plans safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

The assignment of duties in short-range planning, long-range planning, dump planning, road design, dispatch engineering and/or other engineering projects as required within the Carlin Engineering group Develop and communicate engineering plans, sequences, dumping priorities, etc. to operations and other stakeholders on site and ensure plans are carried out safely and efficientlyAssist in end of month reporting for leach pad deliveries as well as other necessary regulatory reportingWork closely with the mine operations team to execute on designs and plans safely and efficientlyOther duties as assigned

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in Mining Engineering or related field or equivalent experience requiredOne (1) to eight (8) years’ experience in open pit engineering preferredExcellent safety record with the ability to demonstrate safety leadership requiredTeam leadership, problem solving, and excellent verbal and written communication skills requiredAbility to work outside in varied weather conditions for extended periods of time requiredAbility to cross-train within the mining engineering group requiredDemonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of this job required
