The Cogen Maintenance Engineer is a strategic position for the Cogen unit and other Utilities assets. This position will be focused on execution and planning of Cogen-related maintenance activities and implementation of equipment strategies around Cogen and its auxiliary equipment. The Cogen Maintenance Engineer will be the primary contact with the Cogen OEM’s and BASF internal experts in Heavy Duty Rotating Equipment (HDRE). In addition to focusing on Cogen, this position will also act as the maintenance representative for capital projects.

As a Cogen Maintenance Engineer, You Create Chemistry By...

Defining work scopes for Cogen and associated equipment outages, PM strategies implementation, and the creation of precision maintenance procedures, inspection, and testing plans in alignment with OEM recommendationsLeading reliability improvement efforts for CoGen and its associated auxiliary systems and equipmentControlling and maintaining Cogen special tools according to the best engineering practices and maintaining mechanical integrity documentation for Cogen, as defined in the mechanical integrity strategies. Providing support for Cogen capital projects and other maintenance projects within UtilitiesChallenge OEM suppliers' recommendations for BASF’s best cost benefit approachAct as field lead for maintenance and turnaround work executed for Cogen and its associated HDRE. Field and data troubleshooting of Cogen and associated HDRE equipmentDeveloping and maintaining a spares parts strategy for CoGen and associated equipment and ensure alignment with Freeport Stores department.

Bachelor Degree required (Mechanical Engineering preferred)Minimum 8 years plant maintenance experience in refining, petrochemical or chemical industry, including repairs and overhauls of HDRE (Heavy Duty Rotating Equipment) Troubleshooting, root cause analysis, inspection and testing experience requiredStrong communications, interpersonal skills, initiative, follow-up, analysis and problem assessment skills requiredProficiency in SAP maintenance module strongly preferred
