Where the chemistry happens…

As a Research Specialist for our Process Catalysis and Adsorbents Scale-up group in Beachwood, Ohio you will be responsible for providing catalyst and adsorbents evaluation support to a wide variety of R&D projects and quality assurance efforts. You are expected to be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining clear, detailed notes and records.

During your 8-h day shift as a Research Specialist, you will

Independently operate a variety of laboratory equipment, such as autoclaves, fixed-bed reactor systems, temperature swing and pressure swing adsorption units (TSA/PSAs). Maintain accurate, comprehensive run sheets, collect data, and report results, having a basic level understanding of chemistry (stoichiometry) and math (algebra). Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair laboratory equipment. Be able to safely handle a variety of hazardous chemicals (feed make-up, catalyst and adsorbent loading/unloading, sample collection, waste collection and disposal, etc.). Operate gas chromatographs (GC’s) and other supporting analytical instruments in the lab. Assist with the installation of tubing, fittings, valves, regulators, etc. as needed for unit modification, construction, and repair.

If you...

Have a high school diploma with at least 8 years of working experience in a laboratory environment; or an Associate degree in chemistry, engineering or a related science field with a minimum of 5 years experience; or a BS in Chemistry, Engineering or related science with no experience. Have experience with laboratory equipment, instrumentation, and analytical methods. Knowledge of safe handling of chemicals and equipment including detailed record keeping. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Excel) required. Can safely lift up to 50 lbs.
