Where the chemistry happens…

As a Sample Clerk for our Petrochemicals business unit you will be integral in ensuring our customers receive only high quality superabsorbent polymer (SAP) from our Freeport TX production facility. The SAP QA lab services the operations team to help manufacture several grades of SAP. The Sample Clerk operates 8hour days M-F, assisting in daily routine duties. The QA lab is a high-volume, fast-paced environment providing rapid analyses and quality recommendations to ensure that all products meet our customer requirements.

During your X-hour shift as a Sample Clerk, you will

Participating in all required site safety activities Following site and business procedures as well as BASF Corporate policies Interacting and communicating with laboratory personnel, operations, and warehouse in a professional manner. Ensuring and maintaining adequate laboratory supply inventory, cleanliness of the lab areas and to ensure lab safety. Following the retain policy for all finished goods, in-process, trial, and patent samples. Ensuring sample request are properly packaged, labeled, and shipped for customers and trial teams. Collecting quarterly samples for all finished material for analytical testing. Identifying opportunities for improvements to lab work practices and communicate them to supervision. Helping to maintain ISO 9001 and customer specific certifications and procedures Working with co-workers as a team to facilitate optimal operations of the laboratory.

If you...

Have a HS Diploma or equivalent Are willing and able to work 8 hour days.(holidays/weekends) Have good attendance, performance, and safety record Are a good team player with communication skills and attention to details Have experience in QA and in working with other departments, i.e., production, logistics Are able to work unsupervised in an efficient manner Have basic computer skills, i.e., Excel, Word, etc. Self-driven with a high degree of initiative and time management skills. Must have the highest standards of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail. Must be highly organized, flexible, and capable of adapting to priority changes regularly. Good oral and written communication skills.
