Director of Accounting Summary:Oversees and directs financial accounting functions of BayCare Health System, working in collaboration with the other Finance Divisions and other areas within BayCare.As the process owner, responsible for system accounting functions, internal controls, accounts payable, payroll, capital asset management and overall GAAP compliance.Responsible for driving continuous improvement across all financial accounting & reporting activities.Responsible to ensure BayCare’s internal and external financial statements are accurate and in accordance with GAAP, as well as lead and ensure the success of internal and external audits.Serves in a leadership capacity supporting the Mission and Vision of BayCare Health System.
Minimum Qualifications:Education:Required - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Related FieldRequired - CPA
Experience:Required - 12 years experience in accountingRequired - 7 years of management/leadership experiencePreferred - Healthcare experience strongly preferred
