QUALIFICATIONS
- At least one of the following qualifications: -Masterβs degree and at least 3 years of full-time experience in healthcare management -Baccalaureate degree and at least 5 years of full-time experience in healthcare management -minimum of 10 years full-time experience in hospital administration
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIESGENERAL HOSPITAL ADMINISTRATION
Responsible for overall hospital operations, and all off-site campuses, commensurate with the authority conferred by and under the supervision of the Sr. VP of Inpatient Services.Organizes and directs all hospital functions with assistance, when applicable, from the Medical Director, Director of Nursing and Director of Social Services. Ensures appropriate admission, discharge and transfer of patients by assuring Director of Nursing is coordinating and facilitating treatment team meetings and approving admissions recommended by the Intake Coordinator and appropriate referrals are facilitated either within the psychiatric continuum of care or to a recommended medical facility.Ensures quality of services by assuring QAPI staff effectively coordinates and/or facilitates identified compliance audits as established in the QAPI plan. As directed by Form/Policy and Procedure Review Committee, assists in the development, revision and ongoing interpretation of policies and procedures including the implications of proposed policies. Ensures the effective and effacement implementation of all policies and procedures. 6. Is involved in client grievance resolution.If/when hospital staff and when applicable, Director of Nursing is unable to effectively resolve grievances the Administrator will meet with client/caregiver in attempt to resolve issues.Plans with other health service entities and develops promotes supportive approach to client service and care.Assures that communication with staff, leadership, Sr. VP of Operations and medical is an ongoing process. Either facilitates or assigns other leadership team members to assure the following meetings occur and are documented with meeting minutes and staff sign in sheets. -shift change reports with every RN/clinical team for every shift -monthly staff meetings -weekly Patient Care Representative meetings -quarterly Medical Executive meeting -monthly QAPI/compliance -monthly Utilization Review meeting -bi-annual Library Committee meeting -monthly Forms/Policy Review Update Committee 9.Is available, or ensures a similarly qualified alternate is available at all times.
HUMAN RESOURCES RESPONSIBILITIES Employs, with assistance, when applicable, from Director of Nursing, qualified personnel and assures that all staff complete skills competency upon hire and then again each year and that all licensed clinical staff obtain required Continuing Education each year.Ensures highest standard of care provided by verifying clinical competency of all staff and monitoring outcomes. Reports inadequacies immediately to Governing Board of Directors and participates in corrective plan of action.Encourages, supports, coordinates and/or provides continuing education and educational in-services for all personnel as directed by Governing Board of Directors and QAPI staff.Ensures minimum of annual evaluations of all staff with assistance, when applicable, from Director of Nursing and Director of Social Services. Supervises, evaluates and directs: Director of Nursing, Director of Social Services, Health Information Manager, Health Information Secretary, and Administrative Assistant. In the absence of Director of Nursing and Director of Social Services, is also responsible for supervising, evaluating and directing all clinical and nursing staff.
FISCAL, STATISTICAL AND SUPPORT SERVICES RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accountable for budget implementation, accounting systems and fiscal controls. 2.Reviews and approves all hospital payroll and submits to Payroll Department in accordance with policy. 3. Approves, monitors and provides for maintenance of all equipment, clinical, nursing and medical supplies. 4.Oversees record and reporting systems providing for proper service control and measurement of program outcome. 5.Submits requests for capital equipment and major office purchases for approval from Governing Board of Directors. 6. Maintains open, regular communication with Medical Directors, documents accordingly and assures accurate records of time sheets and administrative hours. Approves Medical Director time sheets prior to submission to Accounts Payable. 7.Monitor, with assistance from Corporate VP of Finance: Billing, Payroll, Human Resources, IT, and other Support Department functions. 8.Monitor, with assistance from Company VP Customer Relations: Patient Care Representative(s), Intake Coordinator Support Department functions. 9. Monitor, with assistance from Director of Nursing as needed all contracted services required by DHH/CMS.
COMMUNITY EDUCATION Takes an active part in local, state, and national health committees and functions as directed by VP Customer Relations and/or Governing Board of Directors.Works cooperatively with the Business Development Team, when directed, to educate the community about services and maintain community relations.
