📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Record and review intricate journal entries (daily, monthly, adjusting, and recurring).
- Assume a critical role in the month end, quarter end and year-end closing process including preparation of elimination entries, monthly financial statements and the requisite financial analysis.
- Perform general ledger accounts analysis, reconciliations and roll-forwards, including finance and SAAS receivables, loan balances and reserves, fixed assets, capitalized labor costs, deferred revenue, prepaid expenses and equity accounts.
- Monitor and develop internal controls, systems and procedures as appropriate for defined responsibilities.
- Perform GAAP research and draft technical accounting memos.
- Analyze and compile financial data for quarter- and year-end accounting and audit/tax schedules.
- Exercise accuracy in calculating and reconciling numbers from different data sources; periodically test reports to improve operations and for compliance.
- Respond to information requests, reviewing financial statements, and assisting with audits.QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with 4+ years of relevant corporate accounting and/or public accounting experience in Financial Services. FinTech or start-up industry experience is a plus.
- Proven knowledge of US GAAP principles and concepts; proven ability to apply US GAAP on the job.
- Experience using ERP accounting software, Microsoft Dynamics GP preferred. Familiarity with accounting software integration is helpful.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills over large amounts of data (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc).
- Experience with factoring, loan accounting, or securitization accounting is an added advantage.
