Senior Construction Estimator

SUMMARY: Construction Management Associates is looking for a new team member to join their construction estimating department. This candidate should have working experience with Commercial/Multi-Family Construction projects. Some Residential Experience is a plus. The primary responsibility of the Construction Estimator is to provide take offs and estimates while insuring the highest level of accuracy. This includes the preparation of final estimates, material take offs for CMA supplied material, accurately estimate construction costs by collecting and analyzing information based on bids, review of all construction documents to have a thorough understanding of the requirements for each project, and comparisons of historic data.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Day-to-day tasks will include estimating projects based on bids received for specific projectsAnalyzing cost data of product & laborEnsure that all project requirements are metIHDAWHEDADisadvantage BusinessLabor requirementsHiring requirementsDesign criteriaMunicipal requirementsPosting upcoming projects for bid, receiving bids, and entering data onto spreadsheetsAnalyzing bids received for scope of work coverage and updating systems and spreadsheetsAssist with Estimating and data entry to maintain cost database for multiple projectsEstablish and maintain working relationships with suppliers and trade partnersCommunicate with trade partners and team members regarding new and current projectsSupport management in creative solutions to improve current processes and procedures QUALIFICATIONS: Experience as a Construction Estimator preferredTechnical college degree, 4-year degree, or in lieu of degree, years of relevant experience preferredKnowledge of new construction, Historic renovation, and multi-family projects preferredKnowledge of construction means and methods preferredGood understanding of MS Office and Excel. Other software used: Building Connected, One Team, Plan Grid, BuilderTrend and SmartsheetGood understanding of building codes preferredAbility to read architectural and structural drawings with a general understanding of Civil Engineering plans, and MEP DesignDetail-oriented and organized individual who takes pride in work producedAbility to prioritize schedule based on workload, deadlines, and communication with teamGood problem-solving skills
