Job Summary

The Network Engineer is responsible for maintaining and administering the company's computer networks. This includes maintenance of computer networks, hardware, and other related systems, performing disaster recovery operations, protecting data, and hardware from attacks, and replacing faulty network hardware components when necessary. This position assists the team in implementing new network technologies working on a large range of active projects as well as providing network support for our key stakeholders. This includes diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, managing, and upgrading all network systems within the team’s remit.

Bedrock has an in-office work schedule where our team members work alongside one another to drive & support the success of our current & future portfolio of properties in Downtown Detroit & Cleveland and to provide a world class experience for our current tenants, future tenants, and visitors.

Responsibilities

Maintains and administers computer networks and related computing environments including systems software, applications software, hardware, and configurations, monitoring the network for optimal performanceWork with stakeholders throughout Bedrock to understand their network requirements, equipment needs and uphold network standardsDevelop the network architecture to meet business needs, develops test plans, and evaluate new technologyProvide network support with a variety of operating systems, resolve network issues, and troubleshoot wireless LAN Clients and VPN site-to-site/remote team member accessProtects data, software, and hardware by coordinating, planning, and implementing network security measuresAssists service desk, troubleshoots, diagnoses, and resolves hardware, software, and other network and system problems and outagesMaintain network connectivity of all computer workstationsMaintains, configures, and monitors virus protection software and email applicationsImplement and perform disaster recovery operations and data backups when requiredDevelop and monitor policies for the use of network resources and produce and maintain technical documentationEvaluate and recommend security improvements and system upgrades

Requirements

Associate degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experienceCCNA Routing and SwitchingExperience with Cisco network devices, NX-OS, and Cisco IOSApproximately 2 years’ experience designing and implementing network solutionsExperience working with internal and external customers to define solutions, including receiving, interpreting, and understanding user requirements

Qualifications

Proven network engineering, network operations, and network performance analysis skillsHands-on technical troubleshooting capabilitiesKnowledge of computing infrastructuresAn understanding of TCP/IP protocolsAn understanding of switching, routing and firewallsAn understanding of DHCP, DNS and subnetsExceptional critical thinking and problem-solving abilityStrong interpersonal skills to assist non-technical individuals with complex technical issues
