Job Description
UNIT DESCRIPTION
The Birthplace is a 12-bed, private room, labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum unit that includes a nursery staffed by obstetricians, certified nurse midwives, pediatricians, neonatologists and registered nurses. The Unit also has a 2 bed triage and 6 bed postpartum area. Registered nurses are required to demonstrate competent care of the patient in labor, delivery, postpartum and newborn advanced fetal monitoring, breastfeeding education, neonatal resuscitation certification, advanced life support certification, and the OR scrub and circulating roles.
Minimum Requirements
Current Massachusetts RN license; BSN PreferredLabor and Delivery experience requiredMother/Baby or postpartum experience requiredAHA BLS and ACLS certifications required upon hireNRP requiredDocumentation of AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Course or NCC EFM certification required within 3 months.
Recommended Requirements
OR Circulating & Scrub experience preferredExperience working in continuing care/special care nursery/NICU environment preferred
