Director,Accounting, Global Reporting

Job Overview:The Director of Accounting, Global Reporting and Compliance will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the accounting team, including general ledger. The Director is responsible for the monthly close process, account reconciliations and department KPIs. The successful candidate will lead an effective and comprehensive process for all accounting functions, reconciliations and month end close.

Job Responsibilities:Accounting:Manage the monthly close process and provide measures to streamline and condense the monthly close cycle.Prepare and/or review/approve journal entries per guidelines. Prepare and/or review/approve balance sheet reconciliations per corporate guidelines. Conduct GL Detail research through JDE and Hubble to validate accuracy of financial statements and implement corrections for issues discovered. Prepare financial trend analysis to complete income statement review, including revenue, COGS, and SG&A. Global ClosePrepare monthly consolidated elimination entries upon completion of entity level transactions. Reporting:Compliance:Process Improvement:Work with global financial reporting teams to improve current processesResearch new processes for proper accounting treatmentPeople:Responsible for staff development, performance evaluations and finance department structure with the CFO, VP, Corporate Controller and accounting team.Manage and support the accounting and reporting team through coaching and a collaborative management styleDetermine staffing needs based on short and long-term business goalsDevelop and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance or related field, Master’s degree in business administration, public administration or other relevant field, or CPA preferred7-10 years of progressive financial operations responsibility in manufacturing, retail or similarly complex organization with at least five of those years in a finance leadership roleDemonstrated competence in financial reporting and internal controls, development of financial and budget planning models, and benchmarking toolsProficiency with reporting tools, ERP systems and Microsoft Office suiteAbility to effectively supervise and build a high performance cultureStrong written and oral communication skills.Demonstrated analytical skills and the ability to synthesize complex data for a variety of audiences.Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and collaboration skills with a proven track record of building effective relationships across functional areas and with external and community partnersAbility to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentialityTransparent and open working style and high level of professional integrityExcellent problem solving, and ability to respond to a changing array of opportunitiesAbility to support ongoing improvement through courageous, resilient, and catalytic leadershipDemonstrated commitment to employee development, recognition, and accountability to further operational goals
