📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
COMPANY OVERVIEW: Our client specializes in field services include turnarounds, shutdowns, maintenance, construction, structural steel installation, piping system installation, equipment setting, heat exchanger retubes, hydro-blasting, scaffolding, insulation, blasting, painting, tank linings, janitorial services, engineering and terminal operations.

COMPENSATION: Competitive salary + DOE

LOCATION: Pasadena, TX
SUMMARY: Prepare cost estimates for projects to aid in bidding and determining the price of products and services.
Duties Or Responsibilities
Responsible for the estimation of all costs of projects, including raw materials, labor, equipment, tools, and transportation.Researching the materials, sourcing options, labor, and permit costs for a given project.Responsible for the collection, classification, and analysis of historical data.May be required to read blueprints or architectural drawings to determine necessary resources for projects within budgetary constraints.Helps determine necessary resources for projects based on cost estimates and budgetary constraints.Perform bid sheet preparation (Excel), solicit subcontractor proposals, and advertisements as needed, take-offs, and attend pre-bid walks.Identify qualified subcontractors/suppliers.Review quotes for completeness with plans and specificationsAssist with timely completion of all client-required prequal packages.Review subcontractor proposals before contract issuance for complete work scopes.Assist field personnel with estimating Change Orders, RFPs, and clarification of RFIs.Assist with the preparation of budgets and buy-outs.
Experience And Qualifications
Experience in the mechanical, soft craft or civil field (5+ years preferred)Estimating experience (2+ years preferred)Ability to understand/interpret takeoffs and assemble pricing.Ability to perform basic to advanced mathematics required for estimating.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and/or engineering design drawings.Ability to learn and easily be trained on the Estimating Model.Experience in excel and word.Must have computer experience.Must be able to pass a hair follicle drug test.Some sites may require a TWIC card.Climbing multiple flights of stairs without assistance.PLEASE NOTE: We try to respond to everyone who applies for our jobs, but in periods of high activity it may not be possible.
