DUTIES: Support the Membership & Data Science pillar of the Enterprise Analytics Team. Will apply Data Science principles and technology to drive membership insights that will improve member engagement, shopping, retention, and growth.
Job responsibilities include
Under the direction of the Manager of Data Science, formulate solutions to problems related to loyalty economics;Design analyses to support the development BJ’s engagement and loyalty strategies across all channels;Use the right statistical techniques to provide ad hoc data science support to drive data driven decision making and strategies across the membership, engagement, loyalty, CRM and member insight space;Partner in the creation of our engagement and personalization testing plans and provide “next level” insights related to the measurement of tests;Frame business problems and decompose their constituent parts for data science analysis and building new solutions;Build machine learning models and use applied statistics (supervised/unsupervised learning, lift modeling, linear/nonlinear programming, feature selection) to support the business;Certify all engagement and loyalty testing/measurement (hypothesis testing, A/B testing, design of experiment, sample size/power calculation);Communicate data science concepts/insights to non-technical audiences.
REQUIREMENTS: Master’s Degree or foreign equivalent in Data Analytics, Statistics, Business Intelligence, or related field or foreign equivalent, plus 3 years of as a Data Scientist, Statistician or related, Experience must include 3 years working in a retail environment with algorithms, building, deploying and maintaining machine learning models with high efficiency, data mining and big data analysis, designing end to end machine learning solutions and pipelines, performing hypothesis testing, sensitivity analysis and A/B testing, providing statistical analysis, Python, cloud computing (GCP/AWS), SQL, apply analytical and statistical techniques to provide insights on data. Experience may be gained concurrently.
