Part Time Non-Production Flex Associate

Location: Milton, WVPart Time (20-30 Hours): Sunday to Saturday, 9:00am -5:00pm (Weekends Required, some overtime expected for special events)

Rate: $14 dollars per hour

Summary:Blenko Glass Company in Milton, WV is looking for a Non-Production Flex Associate to join our team in our Visitors Center Gift Shop. We are located at 9 Bill Blenko Drive in Milton, WV.

We are looking for a Non-Production Flex Associate to assist customers in the Visitors Center, handle incoming calls in our Customer Service Department, and assist with order fulfillment in our Shipping Department.. Our ideal candidate is friendly, self-driven, punctual, and reliable. This associate would be expected to learn and move freely through our non-production departments: The Visitors Center Gift Shop, the Shipping Department, Customer Service, and, occasionally, serving as a Tour Guide in the event of an absence or special event. It is essential this candidate will be flexible, organized, punctual, and congenial. This opportunity for cross-training in our non-production departments will give the candidate the ability to learn the ins and outs of Blenko Glass Company’s working environment and excel in it.

Retail Responsibilities:Manage transactions with customers using cash registers and card readersIssue receipts, refunds, or changePrice and merchandise inventory at the direction of the Retail CoordinatorMaintain an up-to-date working knowledge of Standard Line products (www.blenko.com), Visitor Center inventory nuances, new designs, seasonal releases, and Special/Limited Edition waresProvide fast, efficient, and accurate customer services during sales, group excursions, events, and other times of high customer volumeRecognize and escalate Customer Service issues to the appropriate channel(s)Greet customers when entering or leaving the storeMaintain clean and tidy checkout and packaging areasBag, box, or otherwise secure packages for customer transport

Shipping ResponsibilitiesFollow company picking/packing procedures and standardsLearn Blenko Glass Company’s products, colors, and historyHandle inventory with care and attention to detailAdhere to safety programs and OSHA compliance for a safe work environmentEnsure product orders are fulfilled and with speed and accuracyWork at different stations as warehouse production requiresPick products according to customer ordersInspect, weigh, and package productsMonitor flow of product into processing machineryVerify compliance with quality, safety, production standards, work rules, and efficiencyMaintain a clean and safe work environmentLabel/Ship product per company standards in a timely mannerCount and verify glass inventoryMaintain shipping supplies, reporting to supervisor when supply levels are low

Customer Service Responsibilities:Frontline customer contact recipient across multiple channels such as phone, social media, email, etc.Diving into customer contact data and trends to identify the root of a problem and solving itManaging workflow, escalations, and effectively routing customer contacts across our team.Resolving customer contacts and closing the loop on escalated contacts.Work with Blenko leadership to illustrate and improve the customer experience.Proactively creating and curating the Blenko customer experience online and in person

Tour Guide Duties and ResponsibilitiesGreet all guests promptly at scheduled tour timesOutline the tour and timeline before beginningDetermine if any guests have physical restrictions that should be consideredClearly and articulately provide information to guests in an engaging mannerAnswer any questions that the guests haveDemonstrate extensive knowledge of our facility and related topicsRemain calm, friendly, and enthusiastic at all timesEscort guests through the tour, taking breaks as neededAssist Visitors Center staff with sales, stocking, and packing as needed

Requirements and Skills:Work experience as a Retail Cashier or in a similar role in salesStrong reading comprehension and communication skillsBasic PC knowledgeFamiliarity with electronic equipment, like cash registers, barcode scanners and POSGood math skillsStrong communication and time management skillsSignificant work experience in customer service preferredExperience with public speaking is a plusAble to memorize and recite facts clearly and accuratelyFluent in EnglishExceptional communication skillsBasic computer skills, including email and word processingComfort with working in high heatComfort with walking and remaining on your feet throughout your shiftCustomer satisfaction-orientedHigh school degreeMANDATORY COVID VACCINATION POLICY: To work at Blenko Glass, you must provide proof of vaccination.
