BLT Recruiting is working with The Visual Effects Society (VES), which seeks an adept Marketing & Communication Manager to revamp and streamline our nonprofit's outreach efforts. This pivotal role amalgamatesdisparate marketing and communication endeavors to bolster communication with our members, orchestrate unified campaigns across email, web, and social platforms, and cultivate the Society's influential stance within the entertainment sphere.

As a global honorary society championing the innovative and creative realm of VFX across all entertainment domains, VES boasts a membership exceeding 5,000 in 49 countries. We are committed to education, inspiration, and celebration.

Key Responsibilities: Develop and oversee a dynamic editorial calendar that is well-planned yet flexible Curate content and manage social channels, including the launch of VES's Instagram presence. Establish and optimize a new email database using MailChimp to streamline communications. Cultivate a compelling global monthly newsletter. Craft engaging email communications for our members, employing best practices to enhance engagement Elevate member experiences through meticulously planned email journeys. Spearhead the creation, management, and dissemination of thought leadership content. Administer and nurture the Discord channel to foster positive internal member interactions. Audit existing templates and suggest and implement best practices updates at the global and section level.

Ideal Candidate Profile: Possess a minimum of 6 years of marketing experience, ideally within below-the-line entertainment or tech sectors (bonus points for VFX, animation, or post-production expertise). Demonstrated proficiency in MailChimp and other email marketing platforms. Exhibit exceptional writing skills, adept at establishing a distinctive tone across diverse channels. Prior experience in managing editorial planning and executing newsletters and thought leadership initiatives. Proven track record in orchestrating integrated campaigns spanning social, email, and web platforms. Fluent in social media creation, tracking, and management tools. Possess excellent project management acumen, consistently delivering projects on time. Capable of managing teams and thriving in collaborative environments. Exhibit adaptability and foresight in navigating evolving landscapes, and anticipating future needs.

Salary Range: Comp $70 - $85K/yr depending on experience.

Working Hours: This position is full-time and currently hybrid with at least three days/week inour Sherman Oaks, CA office and other days remotely. Very occasional nights or weekendwork.
