Intern – Analytics
How Is This Role Important to Our Work?
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota is seeking an initiative-taking individual to join our Analytics team. The successful candidate will work with our team to research and find opportunities to improve member health outcomes and make healthcare more affordable. If you are a current or recent college undergraduate student with education or work experience in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Finance, and have demonstrated project management, interpersonal, and computer skills, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity! The position is full-time (40 hours/week) for a three-month internship, during the summer months or up to 6 months (June - Dec) in a part-time capacity.
A Day In The Life
Develops plans, analyzes data, and reports results to a senior analyst to present findings to key internal stakeholders to make informed decisions.Assist in designing and building strategic and actionable insights utilizing comprehensive visual analytics capabilities.Assist in preparing reports and analysis to identify and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets for values and new opportunities.Assist in developing meaningful reporting programs in a variety of reporting and analytic tools, integrating multiple data sources together.Assists co-workers in using data/information in new and innovative ways.
Required Skills And Experiences
Working towards a bachelors in one of the following focus areas: Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Finance, Management Information Systems, or similar.Willingness to take initiative and learn new concepts and technical skills.Capability to work in a hybrid environment, both at home and onsite.
Nice To Have
Recommended course work completed to include Modeling/Data Visualization, Financial Analytics, Marketing Analytics.Experience with PowerBI, SSRS, SSMS, or SSISComputer literate in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Problem-solving and organizational skillsDemonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.Ability to build relationships and interact with all levels of the organization.Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively present technical information
