Job Title: Senior Cost Accountant in Orlando FloridaDivision/Department: Finance Classification: Exempt
Supervisory Responsibilities:General description and purpose of the position:Applies principles of cost accounting and statistics to aid in implementing and administering systems to provide management with detailed product cost data by performing the following duties.
Minimum Education Level and Experience:Bachelor’s in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. Seven (7) to ten (10) years of minimum experience in similar functions, using any nationally recognized accounting system. Experience in manufacturing industry cost accounting. Advanced and strong knowledge of MS Office (Word and Excel), and Cash Management systems. Excellent communication skills both oral and written. Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepares month-end reporting of all cost variances, inventory balances by location, gross margins on product sales, and other reporting as assigned.
- Aids in analyses of and reporting on work order variances. • Prepares cost of goods sold report by product at end of month and books journal entries. • Maintains accurate standard costs database which includes cost buildup BOM for new products. • Processes new product material cost into ERP system and rolls-up configurations for new sales orders. • Understands MRB process with emphasis on scrab recycling. • Audits cycle count process of inventory. • Handles basics of fixed asset system, including asset entry, asset disposal, and associated journal entries. • Strong organizational and communication skills • Detail oriented • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
