BR&T is seeking multiple high performing, collaborative Composites Engineers (Associate, Mid-Level or Senior) to join our Composite Materials Fabrication Site in Mesa, Arizona.

Our team is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including associate, mid-level and senior level composites engineers.

Our Materials and Processes Technology (M&PT) Department of Boeing Rotorcraft's Mesa, Arizona facility, is seeking an experienced Materials and Processes (M&P) Engineer. The Composite Materials and Processes (M&P) Engineer will work with Composites and Nonmetallic group and will apply knowledge of materials and processes in various engineering and manufacturing disciplines. M&P skill areas include chemicals, solvents, finishes, prepregs, adhesives, primers, polymers, epoxies and elastomers, among others. This engineer will work in the office, laboratory and factory to support the evaluations noted above. This engineer will be coordinating with other skill areas as needed. Other skill areas within the M&P team are metals, adhesives, electronics, coatings, and nondestructive evaluations.

Position Responsibilities

Defines requirements and approves tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes used in the engineering design, manufacture and/or maintenance of productsProduces specifications and other documents to manage the deployment of tools, equipment, materials, parts and processesMaintains compliance with contractual and regulatory obligationsPromotes standardization across business activitiesEvaluates emerging technologies for potential application to business needsDevelops and qualifies new tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes to meet requirementsIntegrates new technologies as appropriateManages test and audit programs to qualify suppliers to applicable requirementsConducts analysis to characterize performance or determine reasons for failure of tools, materials, parts or processesImplements corrective and preventive actionsDesigns, develops and qualifies computer and production systems to satisfy user requirementsUses project management tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirementsIncorporates environmental health and safety, LEAN and Quality principles into (1) materials and processes, (2) research, design and qualification, (3) work procedures and (4) labs and office areas

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science1+ years of experience working with composites and/or composite manufacturing

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience3+ years of experience working in a composite materials laboratoryExperience working in an engineering or scientific labExperience with composite and elastomers and associated processing techniquesExperience with adhesive materials (such as epoxy, urethane, polyimide, reinforcements, etc) and processes.Experience with composite and elastomer failure modes (structural and nonstructural) and analysis for materials, processes and parts.Experienced reading drawings and using Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, etc.)

Typical Education/Experience

Associate (Level 2):

Bachelor's degree and typically 2 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Mid-Level (Level 3):

Bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Senior (Level 4):

Bachelor's degree and typically 9 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 7 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with typically 4 or more years' experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business.

Summary pay range for associate: $77,350 - $104,650

Summary pay range for mid-level: $95,200 - $128,800

Summary pay range senior: $116,450 - $157,550
