Position Overview

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a highly motivated, electrical power subsystems engineer. This position involves the development and certification of commercial derivative aircraft for military applications. Candidate should have design experience with electrical power generation and distribution. Candidate will work closely within in a team environment and interface regularly with customers and suppliers. Candidate needs to be able to manage and prioritize multiple concurrent tasks from more than one customer.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Associate, Experienced and Senior Level Engineers.

Position Responsibilities

Designs electronic hardware focused on aircraft power applicationsOversees the development, production and qualification at the individual component level and at the system level.Assess project performance, efficiencies, productivity and lessons learned.Provides technical, business and integration leadership for the development and execution of project or team plansDevelops, documents and maintains electronic and electrical system requirements according to customer desires and contract requirementsDevelops of statements-of-work and technical performance specificationsDevelops of test plans/procedures and supports the execution test eventsLeads Root Cause/Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations and resolutionsExecutes various methods of testing and analysis to support design and production and to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirementsWorks with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of productsLeads formal trade studies and literature research to support future product designsDevelops solutions to technical problemsExercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment.Interacts with external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.Completed work is reviewed for desired results from a relatively long-term perspective.Ability to work well both independently and within a team environment

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited course of study, in engineering2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experienceAbility to travel up to 15% of the time domestically

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

Active Security ClearanceKnowledge of solid-state power control, power electronics, and electromagnetic compatibilityExperience in electrical and/or mechanical power generator design (MIL-G-21480),Working knowledge of circuit theory, electrical power quality (MIL-STD-704), and electrical load analyses (MIL-E-7016).Knowledge of the FAA certification processExperience with electrical power systems

Typical Education & Experience

Associate (Level 2): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in electrical engineering, computer engineering, mathematics, or physics (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

Experienced (Level 3): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in electrical engineering, computer engineering, mathematics, or physics (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

Senior (Level 4): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in electrical engineering, computer engineering, mathematics, or physics (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Pay Transparency

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Summary pay range (Associate

Level 2): $85,850 - $116,150 Summary pay range (Experienced - Level 3): $102,850 - $139,150 Summary pay range (Senior - Level 4): $128,350 - $173,650
