The Boeing Company is looking for Modeling and Simulation Software Engineers to support our Phantom Works Space portfolio by developing Modeling, Simulation, Test, and Training Environments. This opportunity is located in Colorado Springs, CO.

The Delphi program is growing and seeking a software engineer to develop Modeling and Simulation based test and training capabilities for Satellite Digital Twins and Space Battle Management Command, Control, and Communications (BMC3) programs. We seek a self-driven person who enjoys being on a high-performing team to the support the future of war-gaming, testing, training, exercises, and operational system performance and behavior.

Position Responsibilities

Full-stack software development in an Agile frameworkAbility to work in a multi-functional team environmentImplement Modeling & Simulations services within a Container based system design leveraging open standards, micro-services, and model-based engineering toolsDeveloping software requirementsUnderstanding design implementation

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform work onsite at the listed location. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret/SCI Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science1+ years of experience coding in either Java, Python, and/or C++1+ years of experience with Agile software development1+ years of experience working within integrated development environments1+ years of experience with software design, development, debugging, and performing software integration and test1+ years of experience working in an Agile Environment utilizing Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.), GitLab, or similar tools

Preferred Qualifications

3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experienceExperience with full stack software developmentExperience with spacecraft modeling and algorithm design and implementationExperience with developing cloud-based web applications in Kubernetes, AWS or Azure environmentsExperience with Angular, React, or other Front-End framework

Typical Education/Experience

Associate (Level 2)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g.Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Mid-Level (Level 3)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Associate (Level 2) $85,000 - $115,000

Experienced (Level 3) $104,550 - $141,450

Qualifications

Boeing is developing state-of-the-art secure cloud-based Space C2 ground systems leveraging cutting edge technology in an agile development environment in support of franchise programs. Boeing is seeking a Mid-Level Software Engineer to develop Modeling & Simulation-based test and training capabilities for satellite digital twins and their C2 ground segments, with a focus on missions requiring rendezvous proximity operations (RPO), specialized mission payloads, system-of-systems integration, and interoperability. This engineer will support full-stack development for a cloud-based Modeling & Simulation platform, to include the applications of Digital Twins, infrastructure messaging protocols, and the algorithms to support large scale modeling and sim processing.
