Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is seeking motivated & talented Modeling/Simulation Engineers to join the Systems Engineering Team in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The Boeing Laser and Electro-Optical Systems (LEOS) organization is dynamic and growing with a leadership team focused on attracting and developing top talent in support of critical missions for national defense involving Directed Energy.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Associate, Experienced and Senior Level Modeling Simulation Engineers.

Position overview

Plans, develops and maintains complex analysis and simulation models/tools to evaluate and improve total system architecture and performance. Works to thoroughly address complex defense problems ensuring mission success.

Position Responsibilities

Systems and Performance Analysis, Model & Sim, Algorithm Development Responsibilities May Include:

Evaluates systems under various scenarios and architectures to determine and/or optimize overall system mission performanceDevelops and maintains analysis tools of varied fidelity including modeling and simulation tools to predict performance against evolving threats of current and future defense systemsDevelops, refines and documents key algorithm capabilities to support various DoD customersConducts analysis of multiple targets discrimination for survivability, vulnerability, and susceptibility into a preferred configuration to ensure mission successPerforms systems analyses of the existing system architecture in conjunction with new technologies and concepts for improvements to be considered for future architecturesDevelops and maintains accurate and reliable models to support directed energy and space-based applications utilizing industry standard software and toolsCollaborates with engineers and subject matter experts to gather data, validate models, and ensure accuracy of simulationsConducts simulations to analyze system performance, identify potential issues, and propose improvementsGenerates reports and present findings to stakeholders, providing clear and concise explanations of complex technical conceptsStays updated with the latest advancements in modeling and simulation techniques for electro-optical systems and recommend process improvements accordingly. Assists in the development of new methodologies and tools to enhance modeling and simulation capabilities within the organization.Performs trade studies, modeling, simulation and other forms of analysis to predict component and system performance and to optimize design around established requirementsAssists in the development of requirements for various communication, sensor, electronic warfare, and other electromagnetic systems and electromagnetic componentsSupports development and validation of electromagnetic requirements for electrical systems, electronic systems, mechanical systems, interconnects, and structuresAssists architecture definition to integrate systems and components into higher level systems and platformsDefines and conducts tests to validate performance of designs to requirementsSupports product development throughout lifecycle through root-cause analysis of anomalies and other engineering support as requestedSupports project management by providing statement of work (SOW), budget, schedule, and other required inputs, and by reporting project statusSupports proposal writing to assist business development efforts

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

This position requires ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistryExperience in modeling & simulation, system engineeringExperience with modeling and simulation software development

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

(Level 3) 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience(Level 4) 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experienceMaster's degree or higherExperience in modeling and simulation for electro-optical systems.Proficiency in using industry-standard software and tools for modeling and simulation, such MATLAB, Python, or Java.

Typical Education/Experience

(Level 2)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

(Level 3)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

(Level 4)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range (Associate, Level 2): 79,900 – 108,100

Summary pay range (Experienced, Level 3): 97,750 – 132,250

Summary pay range (Senior, Level 4): 118,150 – 159,850
