About The Role

The Workplace Technology team provides the technology and tools to enable Boldyn colleagues globally to work seamlessly through the delivery of an exceptional Digital Employee Experience. This role is the senior engineer and SME for all enterprise Cloud, Workplace, and Identity Technology environments across Boldyn Networks, covering design, configuration, and operation. The Global Digital and Technology (GDT) team is spread across multiple locations in the US and UK, and as a global role, this person will deal with Market and Group colleagues.

The successful candidate will ensure we make the best use of our cloud services, support existing functionality, and bring innovation and great ideas to push the boundaries of the platform.

The role helps drive the adoption and development of our Microsoft platforms, and other cloud environments, ensuring interaction with our other key platforms within Boldyn Networks. The Senior Cloud Engineer will work to deliver projects, continuous improvement, manage and support Boldyn Networks Cloud and Workplace Platforms, and act as a point of escalation within the team.

The scope of the role includes responsibility for the Microsoft Azure and M365 Tenants, Boldyn Networks’ Microsoft Enterprise Agreement, Azure cost control, global identity and password management, and Single Sign On. The role will also review other SaaS products to identify opportunities to maximise our investment in Azure.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will take ownership of newly delivered environments to maintain great service through this transition period and beyond by embedding process and efficient onboarding and lead, design, deploy, and maintain the implementation of Cloud solutions using Microsoft Azure, M365 and underlying technologies.

You will act as the “go to” person and escalation point to solve more complex problems, incidents and requests, and drive a high performing team and provide technical expertise and challenge technical thinking for Boldyn Networks’ Cloud and Workplace platforms in response to incidents, problems, changes, and project work and ultimately be accountable for the technical delivery of services owned by the Workplace Technology team.

You’ll need to be collaborative as you work with people from across the organisation such as the Enterprise Architecture team to develop the roadmap for Cloud and Workplace Technology solutions, Group Information Security team to implement and maintain security policies and services associated with cloud or the Global IT Team across the US and Europe to solve problems and develop solutions.

Working with the Group Architects in ensuring conformance to establishedarchitectures, standards, patterns and good practiceProvide technical expertise and challenge technical thinking for Boldyn Networks’ Cloudand Workplace platforms in response to incidents, problems, changes, and project workAccountable for the technical delivery of services owned by the Workplace Technology teamBe the “go to” person and escalation point to solve more complex problems, incidents and requestsWork to optimise the reliability, efficiency and value provided by cloud services (e.g., opportunities for automation)Ensure adherence to incident, request, problem and change management processes to agreed SLAsMaintain expert technical knowledge across the areas of cloud and workplace technologyManage the planning, acceptance and delivery of product upgradesOwn and manage the Azure and M365 tenancy and other cloud service including licensingProvide administration and deployment capabilities for cloud platforms such as Azure, addressing the provision and administration of virtual machines, Azure networking, virtual appliances and ensuring access requirements are met within the boundaries of information securityAdministration of the identity platform and integrations – groups and access, synchronisation, role admin and management of IdentityNowSingle sign-on application management including the delivery of new SSO requirementsMaintain CI/CD (continuous integration / continuous deployment) pipelines using GitHub toolsWork with the Global IT Team across the US and Europe to solve problems and develop solutionsWrite standard operating procedures, own documentation to cover implementation of solutions, including security, technical specifications, deployment and supportTraining our operations engineers to use and maintain the automation toolsUnderstand how the business is changing and update the existing documents, processes, methods, procedures, and tools to work with these changesProvide direction and support to GDT supportWorking with the Enterprise Architecture team to develop the roadmap for Cloud and Workplace Technology solutionsWork with Group Information Security team to implement and maintain security policies and services associated with cloud
