As a data governance specialist, you love helping others start their data governance journey. As a data governance specialist at Booz Allen, you can use your skills and experience to support a mission and use data for good. We need a specialist like you to bring your knowledge to empower the meaningful use of complex high-throughput data for public health betterment.

As a client-facing governance specialist on our Health team, you’ll work closely with your clients to understand their questions and needs and then dig into their data-rich environments to find the pieces of their information puzzle. Not only will you provide a deep understanding of the current state of their data governance journey, but you’ll also advise your client on how to bring maturity to their program and have the skills to bring the ideas to life.

How You’ll Contribute:

As a data governance specialist on our team, you’ll:

Analyze data standards and policies to ensure data integrity and compliance Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and assist with translating them into data policies Assist with developing a data policy life cycle that will directly impact efficiency Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that processes we develop are communicated effectively and consistently Develop KPI to measure program maturity Conduct listening sessions to identify gaps and inconsistencies in data standards and policies Utilize project management skills to support documentation needs, run collaboration meetings, ensure action items are tracked, and translate feedback into written policy and implementation plans

Work with us to help drive large-scale business and process decisions through the analysis of data governance or policy governance programs.

You Have

3+ years of experience in a data governance role in a public health or healthcare setting, or a regulated industry Experience with performing gap analysis and process improvement recommendationsKnowledge of Data Use Agreements (DUAs) or Data Sharing AgreementsAbility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirementsBachelor’s degree

Nice If You Have

Experience with data transmission standards, including HL7 and FHIR, ensuring effective data exchange Experience with data standards governance Experience with the CDC’s Data Modernization Initiative Experience with CDC data policies and standards, including data authority, interoperability, and modernization Experience with multiple data catalogs, including Alation and ClouderaKnowledge of data management maturity modelsPossession of excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
