Robotics Autonomy Engineer, Mid

Key Role

Support the research and development of multi-agent teams of robotic systems across multiple operational domains and mission areas. Function at the intersection of software and hardware to design, build, test, and demonstrate new autonomy capabilities that address complex client problems. Apply leading-edge principles, theories, and concepts, and contribute to the development of new principles and concepts. Serve on an interdisciplinary team conducting research and development of novel autonomy solutions for DoD clients. Work on complex problems and provide highly innovative solutions as part of an engineering team.

Basic Qualifications

Knowledge of Robot Operating Systems (ROS), including the development of custom messages, nodes, packages, or stacksKnowledge of software maintenance and deployment, including version control, CI/CD, packaging, containerization, and documentationKnowledge of backend software development in C++ for embedded Linux systemsKnowledge of algorithms and software for mobile robot sensing, perception, localization, navigation, and behaviors in aerial or ground domainsAbility to effectively communicate complex technical topics to a variety of audiences in written and verbal formatsAbility to obtain a security clearanceBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Physics and 1+ years of experience with robotics or systems engineering, or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Physics

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
