📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Located in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, NY , BHGHNY operates a rigorous college preparatory boarding program in partnership with Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School. Using a residence next to the school, BHGHNY works year-round to serve at-risk, low-income teens who can excel in a nurturing and demanding academic community. As the region's only urban boarding program, BHGHNY is at the vanguard of youth development and its overall efficacy and approach continue to set new standards in student services and support.
We believe in the transformative power of education to cultivate lifelong learners who rise above disadvantaged backgrounds. Our scholars learn and grow together as we help them bridge gaps through robust enrichment tools, enhanced learning, and safe spaces for development that prepare them for success in post-secondary education.
Join the Boys Hope Girls Hope of New York team for the evening of May 13th and help us with the logistics of running our Annual Vision of Hope Gala! This night is dedicated to celebrating our senior scholars who have worked so hard to get into amazing schools and show appreciation for our dedicated donors.
Boys Hope Girls Hope of New York's Annual Vision of Hope Gala honors two incredible individuals within the New York City community who have shown an immense commitment to serving others. In addition to celebrating our honorees, this annual event rallies support for our scholars by raising enough funds to cover their programming and operating costs for the following academic year. This inspiring event, centered around our senior scholars, also celebrates their accomplishments gaining admission, and often a full scholarship, to a 4-year college of their choosing.
We need help with the following Check-in & Silent/Live Auction Assistance
Checking gala guests into the event, this includes checking pre-registered guests in by scanning QR codes or marking them as checked in via our One Cause registration website. Additionally, this will involve collecting registration information from guests as they arrive if they did not complete this registration portion before the event.Supervising the silent auction tables during the event, and assisting silent auction winners at the end of the event by handing them their physical items (if in hand) after they have confirmed to have checked out.Keeping track of live auction winners during the live auction and marking them as winners in the One Cause system.
Required Attire Dress to impress. This is a formal event.
Meals will be provided.
We will have a brief training before the event will happen over Zoom the week before the event so there is less confusion the night of.
