Senior Accountant

This role is a hybrid position, with ideally 2 or more days per week in their Philadelphia office.

Position Overview: Reporting directly to the Controller, the Senior Accountant will play a key role in managing financial operations and maintaining accuracy in our real estate investment fund accounting processes. This position will oversee a team of 2 staff accountants and collaborate closely with asset managers and investment professionals to support our investment strategies.Responsibilities:Manage the accounting functions for real estate investment funds, including fund NAV calculations, investor reporting, and capital calls/distributions.Lead the preparation and review of financial statements and investor communications, ensuring compliance with fund agreements and regulatory requirements.Coordinate with fund administrators and third-party service providers to facilitate fund operations, including fund accounting, administration, and tax reporting.Assist in the due diligence and financial analysis of potential investment opportunities, including acquisition underwriting and financial modeling.Support investor relations activities, responding to investor inquiries and providing accurate and timely financial information.Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors to support fund audits and tax compliance.Support Controller in special projects and initiatives to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation preferred.3-5 years of accounting experience in the real estate industry, with exposure to property accounting and financial reporting.Prior experience at one of the Big 4 accounting firms or a real estate investment firm strongly preferred.Solid understanding of real estate accounting principles, including GAAP and industry-specific standards.Proficiency in real estate accounting software (e.g., Yardi, MRI) and MS Excel.Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.Leadership experience and a proven track record of mentoring and developing team members.
