Position Summary

The Director of Strategy & Business Operations is a key role within the Libertyville Senior Leadership Team (SLT). This position is a critical and trusted leadership role as the strategic right-hand person to the Site Head and growth of the site. The incumbent will work directly with the Site Head with input from the SLT setting organizational and site strategies. Responsible for building and scaling Site Business Operations including the following departments: Project Management Office, Operational Excellence teams, and Office Management. Drives the development of goals and strategy at the site while ensuring appropriate KPls are both created and reported. Supports the planning, execution, and progress monitoring of business and governance processes. Develops an operational excellence roadmap and drives key decision making on all aspects of the program. Drives Continuous Improvement (OpEx) and Project Management best practices, promotes standard project management practices across the site in alignment with network practices.

Key Responsibilities

Build and Lead the PMO team to Initiate, Plan, Execute and Close PMO managed projects (direct and indirectly managed projects).Build and lead the Continuous Improvement teams to ensure all Cl projects are prioritized, executed and managed effectively.Lead and mentor the PMO and Cl teams to ensure competencies are developed, retained and allocated to the organization's highest priorities.Promote standard practices to ensure repeatability of projects, continuous improvement and to gain efficiencies in execution.Work with site leaders to understand the business, technical and operational requirements of and implement the right tools and procedures to support delivery.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree in an engineering or scientific discipline required10+ years cumulative experience within the pharmaceutical or related industry10+ years experience leading and managing operations, project or continuous improvement teams or equivalent experience. Demonstrated leadership in managing high performing teams, attracting talent, and communicating effectively.Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of stakeholders at all levels, including executives with differing priorities.Demonstrated change agent with the ability to lead through influence, effectively drive performance, build alignment, inform, negotiate, and collaborate with various stakeholders.Strategic thought partner for Site Lead and SLT.High degree of customer focus and collaboration in a team environment.Delivery - gets the job done. exhibits a sense of urgency on critical time-dependent issues.Demonstrated planning and organizational skills and ability to manage various priorities and timelines.Solid business skills including budget management experience.Capable of creating structure & process where required.Problem-solving skill set with the ability to lead strong personalities and drive open items to effective resolution. The ability to work through ambiguity and independently.Ability to work in a fast-paced industry and environment, comfortable dealing with ambiguity while driving to make decisions quickly.Experience developing and maintaining project management methodologies.Provide vision and leadership to the growing organization.

BMS has a diverse occupancy structure that determines where an employee is required to conduct their work.
