Project Engineering Manager (Misc. Metals & Steel Fabrication)

Well-established structural and misc. metals contractor based in Daly City hiring full time due to growth. Projects include items such as stairs & rails, miscellaneous steel, structural steel. The Project Engineer is responsible for coordinating and managing the flow of information to prepare for and assist in the execution of the project’s work. This role will schedule, plan, forecast resources and manage all the technical activities with attention to project accuracy and quality.

RESPONSIBILITIES:Interpret & explain plans and contract terms.Coordinate logistics and procuring materialsImplement safety program and assist with weekly meetings.Generate, track and apply changes ensuring consistency across, plans, specs and submittals. Update project schedule.Assist, track, and log all change management documentation and implementation (issue letters, PCO’s, BIDS, RFIs).Track manpower, equipment and supplies compared to budget.Assist Superintendent with Field ManagementCoordinate all submittals for a given projectCarryout shop drawings when requiredAttend weekly subcontractor field meetings REQUIREMENTS:3+ years experience in construction as a Project EngineerBachelor’s degree or related field, preferably in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture or a Construction Management Certificate from an accredited university.Solid computer skills with working knowledge of AutoCAD, Construction Management Software Procore & Bluebeam as well as MS Office, including Outlook, Project, Excel and Word.Reads, understands and interprets construction plans, schematics, blueprints, drawings and technical manuals to determine appropriate construction methods.
