Wind Technician (Canby)

Deriva Energy, a portfolio company of Brookfield Renewable U.S., who is a nationwide leader in sustainable energy provides wind, solar, resilient backup power, and managed energy services to over 1,000 projects across the U.S., with a total electric capacity of more than 5,100 megawatts of nonregulated renewable energy is seeking a Wind Technician.

Our Wind Technicians are a vital part of our organization, and we take pride in hiring and training the best in the industry. This is a full-time, permanent position with significant room for advancement. This is both the entry level and initial training level for the series. The hiring manager may elect to fill this position at the higher Wind Technician II Level dependent upon a candidate's skills and experience.

We are looking for a Wind Technician I or II to maintain all aspects of our turbines (e.g., electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, etc.).

Responsibilities

Always maintain a high level of safety awarenessClimb heights 300 ft. and greater several times dailyDiagnose and resolve faults on turbines as they relate to mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problemsPerform troubleshooting to identify the root cause of an issue and perform corrective actions or open a service case with equipment manufacturerPerform energy isolation in accordance with all Lock Out / Tag Out ProceduresPerform pad mounted Transformer switching in accordance with all Hazardous Energy Controls ProceduresPerform small or large corrective tasks on wind turbinesPerform preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, performance monitoring and evaluationMaintaining all aspects (e.g., electrical, mechanical, civil, etc.) of turbines in a safe, high quality, and efficient mannerMaintain EH&S Documentation and complete necessary paperwork (work order, timesheet, tool and PPE inventory, and additional paperwork as necessary) within Maximo

Requirements

Wind Technician - Level I

High School/GEDIn addition to the High School/GED requirement, the ability to complete Level I job performance measures and training in Deriva Energy within 1 year

Wind Technician - Level II

High School/GEDExternal Candidates - In addition to the High School/GED requirement, (3+) years of related work experience. Must pass required Turbine Technician I and Electrical Operator I JPMs within the probationary period.Internal Candidates - In addition to the High School/GED requirement, (1+) year of technical experience with Deriva Energy as a Wind Technician. Must also have Turbine Technician-1 and Electrical Operator1 JPM Completed.

Qualifications

AAS degree or certification in Wind/Renewable Energy or applicable field of study.Experience with Siemens 2.3-108MW and MHI 2.4MW TurbinesExperience with multiple wind turbine supplier technologiesMore than 1 year experience with wind turbines: troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance.High voltage and substation maintenance experienceFamiliarity with mechanical and electronic testing equipment (i.e., voltage testers, amp clamps, oscilloscopes, and various hand and power tools)Knowledge of heavy equipment for facility maintenance and working knowledge of crane and rigging requirementsCompetent with Maximo EZ Max mobile work and My Time management systemsMicrosoft Office Including Excel/Word/PowerPointCPR and AED Training CertificationTSL tower climber and rescue & EEM trainingForklift certified

However, field employees are required to live within an hour commute to their assigned work location.
