Java Software Engineer

As the Software Engineer, you will work for a leading technology-enabled healthcare services company to support the Benefits organization. These teams are responsible for managing critical patient data for eligibility, claims, product pricing, adjudication, copays and other pharmaceutical related information. There are several applications across this organization that are tailored to both internally and externally facing users of the enterprise, including the sales executives, pharmacists, call center specialist, and patients. It is critical that these applications are running accurately in order for the business to support their healthcare members efficiently and effectively. You will be responsible for developing, troubleshooting and deploying alongside a team of experienced developers and a dedicated team lead, who all heavily use Java and Springboot. Despite the organization prioritizing cloud modernization efforts, this team is still working towards building their in house knowledge around AWS capabilities. Your AWS cloud experience will give you the opportunity to stand out and create long term technology impacts. Communication with various technical teams, both onshore and offshore, is critical for the SDLC and meeting production deadlines as well. Team and individual tasks are delegated through sprints, so time management skills and enthusiasm towards overall objective is important. Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field5 years of enterprise experience on a software development teamHands-on experience using Java and Springboot for backend developmentExperience using React for frontend developmentAWS experience is required; certification(s) is a plusUnderstanding of and/or exposure to various cloud environment is a mustAbility to make immediate impacts to high level applicationsHigh level communication/collaboration skills and team player mindset Responsibilities:Support enterprise wide pharmacy and benefit facing systems with high level leadership visibility and critical business purposeWork directly with a team lead to drive an enterprise wide technology transformation initiativeDevelop, troubleshoot, implement and deploy quality code alongside a team of experienced developersUtilize Java as a primary coding language for backend developmentLeverage front end understanding of tools such as React to create an enhanced user experienceModernize new and existing applications by migrating to AWS cloud platform using your knowledgeWork on existing development doing maintenance, debugging and supporting production issuesParticipate in the full software development lifecycle through accomplishing delegated tasks and meeting sprint deliverables on timeFollow standard methodologies and Agile practices to produce high quality applications in an efficient mannerMonitor and continually improve the content, quality and documentation of all applications Work closely with internal employees across departments to gather, analyze and document business requirements
