📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Network Engineer Onsite - Indianapolis, IN. 6-12 Month CTH
The Network Engineer’s role is to ensure the stability and integrity our clients data, voice, video and wireless network services. It is expected that this person make regular recommendations regarding the technical solutions and technical partners. Additionally, this person is the liaison to our networking vendors and application owners on matters regarding performance, availability and security. This individual will also analyze and resolve network hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion and provide leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel.
RESPONSIBILITIES:working in a Cisco, Fortinet and Meraki infrastructure environment consisting of 200+ malls, outlets, regional offices and Data Centersfor the design, engineering, installation and maintenance of one or several of the following disciplines: Data Center, Azure Cloud, SD-WAN, Local and Wide Area Networks, VOIP Networks, Security Appliances, VPNs and Wireless Networks.support and configure Cisco core routers and switches, Fortinet Firewalls and all necessary security applications. Provide ongoing network maintenance, including updates and security patches.evaluate, and solve potential network performance issues. Manage Fortinet and Cisco infrastructure-related and other network requests and problems. Support customers and employees via email, telephone, and face-to-face interaction.Assist with the planning and design of future network architecture. Prepare basic cost analysis and vendor comparisons to ensure cost-effective and efficient operations and measures feasibility of various approaches.maintain documentation related to the installation, administration, and maintenance of network infrastructure.test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports.managing all network security solutions and help insure all network systems meet compliance requirementsensure changes are planned and implemented in a sound low risk manner, without creating system outage
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Fortinet, FortiGate FortiSwitch, and FortiAP experience and success with SD-WAN, LAN, WAN, WLAN, VOIP, design and implementation. Specifically Fortinet, Cisco, Meraki, vendors and technologies.experience with network security principles, and network management best practices.technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and Internet standards.network troubleshooting experience, ability to conduct research into networking issues and products as required.competence with testing tools and procedures for voice and data circuits.working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
