📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Position: DevOps Engineer (AWS)Client: Global Health Technology CompanyLocation: RemoteHours: Must be available during Eastern and Central Time Zone business hours Structure: 6-month Contract-to-Hire Pay: $55 – 75/hr depending on experience ($114-145k conversion salary)
Brooksource's global health technology client, is seeking a skilled and dedicated DevOps Engineer to join their HIS DevSecOps team. In this remote role, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining managed services and automation tooling utilized by development teams across their Health Information Systems (HIS) division. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be key as you ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of applications and tools, contributing to the vision for secure software delivery across HIS.
Key Responsibilities:Automate the creation of golden images using Packer and Ansible, leveraging Bash and PowerShell scripting.Ensure compliance of golden images by addressing vulnerabilities and enhancing hardening scripts.Establish and support CI/CD pipelines using AWS services such as CodePipeline, CodeBuild, and CodeDeploy.Automate infrastructure deployment using CloudFormation.
Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with three (3) years of IT, DevOps, or infrastructure experience; or High School Diploma/GED with seven (7) years of relevant experience.Cloud experience with Amazon Web ServicesProficiency in Git for source control management.Familiarity with software engineering best practices including code reviews and build processes.Linux experience.Experience with scripting in Python, Bash, and PowerShell.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).Experience with CloudFormation, EC2, ECS, Lambda, IAM, CodeDeploy, CodeBuild, CodePipeline, and CloudWatch.Experience with Linux Amazon Linux 2 automation and CI/CD.Previous experience with Packer for building AMIs.AWS DevOps Engineer or AWS Certified Developer certification.Master's degree or equivalent practical experience.Strong written and verbal communication skills.
