Job Description

At Brown Advisory, the Strategic Advisory team is a group of specialists, often attorneys, which create and/or implement customized solutions to individuals and families. Due to the complex nature of clients’ objectives and related service needs, Strategic Advisory Associates will provide support for strategic advice within a client team for a broad array of individual, family and trust portfolios, subject to the special needs of each client.

Position Responsibilities

Assist in the management process of client relationships in coordination with the Strategic Advisory and Private Client teamsUnderstand fiduciary issues relevant to client relationships; partner with internal teams to coordinate tax, estate planning, and fiduciary matters for clientsDemonstrate an interest in developing knowledge of personal tax, estate planning, retirement savings strategies, philanthropic planning, impact investing, and various investment strategiesStay abreast of major tax or legislative updates that impact our clientsLearn and utilize our Financial Planning software to help with cash flow modeling and capital sufficiency analysisContribute to the creation of core deliverables on the Strategic Advisory team by developing balance sheets and graphical estate plan summaries for client relationshipsCoordinate presentations of the firm’s Strategic Advisory capabilities, including developing content for prospective clients and their advisorsOrganize timely and relevant content for internal and external audiences in coordination with broader teamAct as self-starter capable of operating independently with a high level of direct responsibility, while maintaining strong ties to the Strategic Advisory team

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required, degree in Finance, Economics or related subject preferredMinimum of 3 years’ experience within the industry; 3 -7 years’ experience preferred.Desire to continuously learn and develop professionally including but not limited to advanced certifications that align with the current and evolving needs of our clientsProgress towards or completion of MBA, CTFA, CFP, JD or CPA or other degree and/or professional certification preferredAbility to understand complex documentation related to account structures, trusts, etc.Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities to meet client demandsDemonstrates professional maturity and discretion in handling confidential and delicate client issuesProficiency in leveraging systems and processes to execute activities with accuracy and efficiencyMust be self-motivated, a team player, and have strong interpersonal skillsExhibits excellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenExhibits an entrepreneurial spirit and will develop ways to contribute to the growth of the firmExceptional organizational skills and strong ability to prioritize tasksAbility to work in the Austin office five days a week
