Position Statement
Maintaining all equipment in the Waste Water area.
Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks
Maintaining all equipment, repairing and/or rebuilding all mechanical components Maintaining all necessary electrical work on all equipment Directing waste water distribution through series of aerators, pumps/valves, pipes, center pivot irrigators, and spray heads. Maintaining logs of both volumes of waste water distributed and equipment usage and maintenance performed.
Knowledge Skills And Abilities
Able to operate waste water treatment and distribution system equipment and facilities Self sufficient in electrical, pumps/valves, pipes, plumbing, welding and in heavy equipment operations Able to ensure that waste water distribution rates meet prescribed ground absorption capacity and/or crop utilization allowances. Able to operate waste water distribution system to maintain adequate storage capacity in lagoons for daily waste water production. Able to operate backhoes and trenchers during installation of pipelines, pumps and related waste water distribution equipment. Have knowledge of workplace safety rules.
Education And Experience
High School Diploma or GED Must be able to speak, read and write English Must be willing to acquire a State of North Carolina Grade 1 Certification as a Waste Water Treatment Plant Operator
