📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
We are on the lookout for an accomplished Vice President of Inventory Management who is adept at transforming strategic plans into operational success. This role is designed for a leader who excels in a standardized operational procedure (SOP) environment and is proficient in managing inventory through sophisticated ERP systems—beyond the basic spreadsheet management.
Key Responsibilities:Advanced Strategy Development: Formulate and implement cutting-edge inventory management strategies focusing on demand forecasting, inventory planning, replenishment, and allocation, using integrated ERP solutions.ERP Mastery: Demonstrate extensive experience in demand planning and supply planning within an ERP framework, ensuring a departure from traditional spreadsheet methods.Collaborative Leadership: Liaise effectively with cross-functional teams including Merchandising, Finance, Operations, and Sales to synchronize inventory management strategies with broader business goals.Operational Excellence and Innovation: Leverage deep knowledge of current industry trends and technology to drive continuous improvement and strategic innovations within inventory processes.Educational Leadership: Equip and empower the management, including the General Manager, with knowledge and strategies for leveraging inventory management to positively impact the business.
Qualifications:Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Management, or a related field. Advanced certifications such as CSCP are highly regarded.Professional Experience: At least 8-10 years of progressive leadership experience in inventory management within a context that extensively uses ERP systems for inventory operations. Demonstrated ability to guide strategic initiatives and adapt plans to evolving business needs.Strategic Thinking: Proven capability to strategize, plan, and execute with a perspective that aligns with dynamic market conditions and organizational objectives.Proven Mentorship: Ability to educate and mentor senior management, including General Managers, on the strategic impacts of inventory management.Team Management: Proven leadership skills with a history of motivating teams to meet and exceed performance standards, managing a significant team size with a mix of remote and onsite personnel.
Additional Requirements:Willingness to travel up to 15% of the time to ensure alignment across network operations.
